Hi there! I’m Sarah, the proud dog mom of two lovable half toy poodles, Toby and Riley. Small dogs have always been a big part of my heart, and I created Small Dogs Big Hearts to share tips, stories, and resources for fellow small dog lovers. When I’m not spoiling my pups, you’ll find me volunteering at our local dog shelter or sipping coffee while dreaming up ways to make life with little dogs even better. Why Small Dogs?
Dogs have always been a part of my life—from growing up with golden retrievers, a beagle, and a shih tzu, to later having goldens, rottweilers, and a border collie/black lab rescue as an adult. When my allergies worsened, I knew I couldn’t imagine life without dogs, so finding a hypoallergenic breed became a priority. That’s how I ended up with small dogs, and I couldn’t be happier—they bring so much joy and love into my life every single day.
